PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS SISWA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning Terhadap Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif, dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen. Populasinya adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan yang terdiri dari 9 kelas, pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling. Instrumen tes yang digunakan tes berbentuk uraian. Analisis data dilakukan dengan Uji T Paired Sample t-test. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai rata-rata pretest kelas eksperimen 58,65 dan nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 75,81. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa: Terdapat Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning Terhadap Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Siswa dengan nilai sig. 0,000 < 0,05. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan.
ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the influence of the problem based learning model on the ma thematical problem solving abilities of class. This research is quantitative research, with a quasi-experimental type of research. The population was all students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan consisting of 9 classes, sampling using cluster random sampling. The test instrument used to determine students' problem solving abilities is to use a test in the form of a description. Data analysis was carried out using the Paired Sample t-test. Based on the research results, the average pretest score for the experimental class was 58.65 and the average posttest score for the experimental class was 75.81. The findings show that: There is an influence of the Problem Based Learning Model on Students' Mathematical Problem Solving Ability with a value of sig. 0.000 < 0.05. So it can be concluded that the use of the Problem Based Learning learning model can improve the mathematical problem solving abilities of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan.
